We have selected two locations for the initial deployment of the LO-CAMS stations.
The first will be located on Lowell Observatory’s Mars Hill campus, about a mile outside of downtown Flagstaff. This station will be installed on the roof of the historic Slipher Building at latitude = 35.20297 deg, longitude = -111.66449 deg and an approximate elevation of 2200 meters.
The second station will be located within the compound of Lowell Observatory’s 4.3-meter Discovery Channel Telescope (DCT), about 50 miles south of downtown Flagstaff. This station will be installed on the roof of an auxiliary building which is used primarily for re-aluminizing DCT’s primary mirror. This station will be located at latitude = 34.74442 deg, longitude = -111.42186 deg and an approximate elevation of 2400 meters.
This page will be updated as commissioning of LO-CAMS begins in Fall of 2015.
